We arrived at Laguna Lăng Cô in the late afternoon on 28 September for our 24-hour site visit and course review. The first stop was at the Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club for a greeting and quick overview of the resort complex. Having known of this integrated resort property for several years prior to its opening, I was particularly looking forward to this visit.
After the greeting, our group of four was escorted to a two-bedroom pool suite at the Angsana Lăng Cô property. Upon entering the spacious 159 square meter suite with a private pool, large living area and two sizable bedrooms, I envisioned it would be a perfect escape for a much longer visit
As it was also an evening with a full moon, we made our way across the site to the Banyan Tree Lăng Cô property where we were invited to attend a beach party. It was an enjoyable evening with hors d'oeuvres, local delicacies, wine and beverages on the seaside with the full moon shining on the East Sea
The next morning, we took a short walk over to the Market Place Restaurant for their extensive breakfast buffet prior to our round of golf and course review.
Greeted at the golf club by Darren Robson, who doubles as both the General Manager and Director of Golf, we knew we were in good hands. We were given a quick overview of the course, assigned our carts and caddies and headed for the 1st tee
Designed by Sir Nick Faldo, the award-winning championship course is an 18-hole, par 71 layout that offers a challenge to golfers of all capabilities. Considered by many as one of his best layouts to date, the site’s natural rugged character has been integrated into the course by maintaining the land’s natural terrain. The course with links-like characteristics measures nearly 7,100 yards from the championship tees to a beginner friendly 5,263 yards from the front tees.
Laguna’s only seaside-hole, providing a fabulous view of the East Sea. The par-5,18th hole is a lengthy dog-leg right that is well protected by bunkers along the way. It makes for a very good finishing hole on it’s return to the clubhouse.
Upon completing the round, we again joined Darren Robson and staff for a nice lunch at the terrace café which offered an extensive selection of local and international fare. Also available at the clubhouse are a fully stocked golf shop and full service locker rooms.
Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club also offers several membership types ranging from lifetime membership to those for the new golfer.
Laguna Lăng Cô provides for an exotic getaway on the pristine East Sea coast between Danang and Hue. Perfect for a single day of golf or a week long escape.
